Caroline's Story
I'm a Toronto based film and television actor and I trained with Dan in preparation to shoot a television series. I knew I had a two month hiatus in Vancouver and I knew I wanted to feel very fit and confident at the end of it.
With a background in dance and fitness, I had specific criteria for the trainer I sought: he or she had to have a a highly informed, dynamic and innovative approach to functional fitness while being both experienced in and enthusiastic about training woman. Further, the trainer I sought ideally offered both group and one-on-one sessions. After talking with Dan I realized he not only fit the "technical criteria", but he was warm, engaging and ultimately focused on offering the best service to his clients.
I trained with Dan three days a week over the course of six weeks. On my off days I either walked, attended a yoga class, skipped, or rested my body. Dan and I began the six weeks with awareness of my goals and respect for my previous injuries.
Within the first week I felt a difference in my energy and stamina. By the second I noticed greater definition in my legs, arms, abdomen, and my quality of sleep. In three weeks my clothes fit more flatteringly and my posture had improved. By the end of six weeks I felt fabulous.
Dan helped me get results. He is patient, specific, motivating, and highly knowledgeable.
I felt very challenged during the sessions yet I didn't feel any burn out. I was motivated to work consistently and I looked forward to my sessions. Dan monitored the impact of our work with regard to the healthy stress it placed on my nervous system and also my speed of recovery. While Dan pushed me to train intensely, he also respected my feedback and my own body awareness.
These are some of the benefits I experienced from our work together:
-My lower half is considerably leaner and more toned; clothing fits more loosely around my bottom and legs.
-My shoulders have greater dimension and definition and my overall silhouette is more balanced.
-My metabolism increased.
-My sense of being "in tune" with my body and my overall nutrition were enhanced.
-My abs are more defined, specifically my oblique muscles. Consequently, my core support is stronger, and my waist is measurably smaller.
-My posture has improved and I feel longer and taller.
I lost between one and two clothing sizes while feeling healthy, strong, toned and feminine.
I returned to Toronto feeling confident that I had worked hard to attain my goals, and my costume designer couldn't believe the healthy but noticeable difference in my physique!!
I respect Dan's professionalism and the care he takes with his clients. I would train with him again at the first opportunity and I look forward to doing so when I'm back in Vancouver.

Bob's Story
Married with a four year old son and a time consuming/stressful job makes keeping fit a real challenge. Finding the time for a workout given family and work commitments is difficult. As well, eating "right" can be
particularly challenging when you are eating out 7 to 10 times a week. As you can see from the "before" picture there was a focus on great wine and food.
At my annual physical in February I knew I had to do something when the doctor informed me that I was in pretty good shape for someone in their mid to late 50's. I was 39 at the time. Enough was enough.
I asked Dan what changes I should make. Dan made a number of recommendations on both diet and a running program and for the
next six weeks I completed two 35 minute runs and two regular work outs with
Dan each week. In addition, I made a number of improvements in my diet including
reducing the amount of red wine, sweets and carbs.
As you can see from the "after" picture the results were pretty good. In six weeks I dropped weight and decreased my waist size. Thanks Dan.
